Scintillation device for detecting X-rays

摘要

The detection device comprises a screen consisting of microtubes 14 which are transparent to the light emitted by a scintillator material 22 which occupies the channels of the microtubes. The scintillator material has an optical index greater than that of the constituent material of the microtubes 14 so as to constitute, with the latter, optical fibres with an index discontinuity guiding the light towards the exit face 18. The device can be applied whenever both high sensitivity and good resolution are sought. <IMAGE>
