The present invention relates to a triggering/pressure reducing appliance for gas fitted with an improved stop tap. This appliance allows the "open", "closed" and "triggered" position to be viewed, and essentially comprises a hairpin-shaped pin 12 securely fastened to the upper part 9 of the cap of the appliance, this hairpin 12 carrying a reference mark 21 which may be superimposed with a reference mark 10 for the open position of the appliance in order to indicate that the latter is triggered, whilst in the non- triggered state, the hairpin 12 is retracted by a finger 18 coupled to the triggering mechanism of the appliance. The appliance of the invention is intended to be mounted on any installations using gas. <IMAGE>
