PURPOSE:To make it possible to heat reserved water with a high degree of efficiency by use of high-temperature exhaust gas in association with the starting of an engine, by providing a heat-pipe having its heated end fitted in an engine exhaust passage and its heat-radiating end confronting a water reserving con tainer in the vicinity of a passenger's seat. CONSTITUTION:An exhaust pipe 2 is connected to an automobile engine 1 while a water boiler 4 as a water reserving container for reserving water 3 therein and boiling the same, is arranged in the vicinity of a passenger's seat. In the above-mentioned arrangement, a bypass 5 is branched off from the intermediate section of the exhaust pipe 2, and a shut-off valve 6 is disposed at the branching point thereof. Further, a heat-pipe 7 is arranged with its heated and 7a being fitted in the bypass 5 and its heat-radiating end 7b being made in contact with the bottom surface of the boiler 4. With this arrangement, the water in the boiler 4 is heated by high-temperature exhaust gas flowing through the heat-pipe 7 in accordance with the starting of the engine 1, and therefore, high tempera ture water is always available. |
