A lidded box is proposed which is folded from a single-part cardboard blank, has a label stuck over it and whose lid is connected to the bottom part via a fold hinge and, in the closed state, grips over a neck on the bottom part and is placed flush on a peripheral edge strip, the blank for the bottom part consisting of a bottom plate, side parts, front and rear parts and strip portions which are linked thereto and are partially bonded to one another after folding and erecting. In this case, strip portions of the peripheral edge strip are linked in each case to the double-layered foldable side, front and rear parts forming the neck and a backing strip is linked in each case to the narrow sides of two opposite parts linked directly to the bottom part. As a result, a cardboard blank is achieved which is virtually symmetrical to an imaginary longitudinal axis, such that the machine-operated erection operations can be carried out relatively easily by means of devices which are not too bulky. No later separation cuts on the cardboard need to be carried out. The cardboard blank results in an extremely dimensionally stable lidded box with the desired case-type appearance.
