<p>PURPOSE:To control optionally the surface roughness of a strip at a low cost without exchanging work rolls by winding a strip on the work rolls rotating at different circumferential speeds and rolling the strip under the rolling load changed within a specified range of elongation percentage. CONSTITUTION:Rolling load is changed within the range where elongation percentage is maintained constant with respect to the rolling load in a perfect PV state with a PV-E rolling mill which performs temper rolling of a strip by winding the strip on a pair of work rolls rotating at different circumferential speeds. If the rolling load is increased, the surface of the work rolls is rubbed with the surface of the strip, by which the strip is finished to the smooth surface. Conversely when the rolling load is decreased, the influence of the surface roughness of the work rolls on the surface of the strip is decreased and the strip is finished to the rough surface. The surface roughness of the strip is controlled as desired by adjusting the rolling load according to the above-mentioned method.</p> |
