PURPOSE:To make a speed change mechanism compact without reducing the room space of a car by providing a stopper device, which regulates a lever shift to the rearward position, in the hollow formed within a speed change lever. CONSTITUTION:A bearing member 9 penetrates through and is supported by the wall surface in a concave section 6 of a wall surface 4 of a car body, and a rotating shaft 14 is fitted in the bearing member 9 to be freely rotatable and a speed change lever 7 is fixed at the end inside the room with a screw 15. A stopper device is set up in the hollow inside the speed change lever 7. The stopper device supports a shift bar 21 with a pin 22 to be freely rotatable, and energizes this shift bar 21 with a spring 23 so as to rotate counterclockwise, and engages its lower end 21a to a cutout 12a of a stopper 12. In this way, since the speed change lever mechanism has its change lever 7 housed in the concave section 6 formed on the wall surface 4 of the car room near the side of the seat, it does not occupy the floor area nor reduce the car room space. |
