POLYETHER ESTERS, MANUFACTURE AND USE FOR TREATING TEXTILE

Water-soluble or water-dispersible segmented polyetheresters having a predominantly linear molecular structure and containing (a) 3-45% by weight of terephthalate groups of the formula I wherein R denotes hydrogen or methyl, (b) 0.4-6% by weight of terephthalate groups of the formula II wherein Rx denotes hydrogen or C1-C4-alkyl and Me denotes an alkali metal or ammonium ion, and (c) 49-96.6% by weight of terminal polyalkylene glycol groups, all the weights being relative to that of the polyetherester, are used for finishing synthetic fibre textile material.
