Phenylalanine and tyrosine were isolated from protein hydrolysates. Thus, salts-HCl, such as leucine-HCl, isoleucineHCl, phenylalanine- HCl and tyrosine-HCl, were extracted with a H2O-insol. alc. (esp. BuOH or iso-BuOH), concentrated and passed through a weakly, then a strongly, basic anion exchanger, eluting phenylalanine.
