PURPOSE:To attain proper image pickup while recognizing the change in the operating state by displaying the operating state of a changeover switch together with a picked- up picture to an electronic view finder so as to display the operating state of the changeover switch even at the recording mode and the recording pause mode. CONSTITUTION:The information of changeover switches 2-4 such as diaphragm switching, color temperature switching and gain up switching is given to a discrimination means A, where the presence of the operation of the changeover switches 2-4 is discriminated. Moreover, character information representing the operating state of the changeover switches 2-4 is stored in advance in a memory 8. When it is discriminated that the changeover switches 2-4 is operated by the discriminating means A, a read means B reads the character information representing the operating state of the changeover switch operated by the memory 8 and the character information is fed to character signal generating circuits 9, 10. The character signal generating circuits 9, 10 generate a character video signal corresponding to the character information, and after the character video signal is mixed with the video signal picked-up by the camera at a mixer 11, the result is fed to the electronic view finder and the operating state of the changeover switches is displayed. |
