Metallic catalyst support and process for producing it

The catalyst support is produced by aluminium-coating an iron alloy which is resistant to oxidation at high temperature. Suitable alloying elements which produce oxidation resistance are chromium, aluminium and silicon. A combustion catalyst is deposited on said support. The catalyst deposited in this way has a longer service life than a catalyst on a support composed of uncoated alloy containing 4-5% aluminium or about 18% chromium.
