In a roller mounting for a sliding sash running on a track 3 on the horizontal surface of the rebate of a cill 8, the rollers 6 are each mounted in a U-section bracket 7 which is tiltable about a pin 10 mounted in an angle section 12, the pin being parallel to the direction of travel of the roller, the angle section 12 being let into the underside of the bottom rail 11 of the sash, the arrangement being such that when the roller 6 is upright the web of the bracket 7 bears against the flank 13 of the section 12 and the vertical flank 14 remote from the rebate surface 8 has a horizontal ledge 15 which carries a small roller 17 revolvable on a vertical pin 16 and at the end of the sash closing movement rides onto a vertical ramp 5 mounted to confront the vertical rebate surface 8, and thus forces the bottom rail of the sash into sealing contact with face 8, the roller and bracket 17 tilting about the pin 10. |
