PURPOSE:To reduce the power consumption of a stepping motor by switching the applying voltage to the motor on the basis of the predetermined switching condition. CONSTITUTION:One end of exciting coils A, B, -A, -B of a stepping motor is connected to drivers 161-164 for selecting the exciting phase, and the other end is connected directly to a low voltage power source 155 or to a high voltage power source 156 through power source switching drivers 170, 171. The exciting phase is selected by signals SPA, SPB from a slave microcomputer 132, and a power source is selected by signals HA, HB. A high voltage power source 156 is selected at the initial of exciting in every phase, and a large current is flowed to the exciting coil. When the prescribed time is elapsed, the drivers 170, 171 are turned OFF on the basis of the predetermined switching conditions, and switched to the low voltage power source 155. |
