Sensors and other electronic components often require the total capacitance to be matched after completion of all the mechanical work. The capacitive matching can be carried out in a non-destructive manner, without further mechanical treatment and with the desired accuracy and stability by means of a suitable layer which is deposited to the respectively required extent on a suitably shaped base capacitor, for matching. At the same time, the material of the layer can take into account view points relating to the application. A plunger-type body is advantageous for fine adjustment of the capacitance of hollow capacitors. <IMAGE>
