The invention relates to a damping device having at least two coaxially arranged centrifugal weights mounted to allow relative rotation counter to the action of damping means, one of which centrifugal weights is rotationally connected to an internal combustion engine and the other can be connected to the input component of a gearbox. To improve the support between the two centrifugal weights and thus increase the service life and improve the functioning of the damping device, the second centrifugal weight is supported on the internal combustion engine via a central journal-like projection extending axially from it in the direction of the internal combustion engine.
