If a heater valve is regulated via a plurality of thermostatically active actuators, and if one or more of the latter acts inversely, the desired temperature value at the temperature sensor of an inversely thermostatically active actuator is matched in the case of a slow temperature drop, for example DELTA T/t < 1 DEG K per min, to the temperature at the temperature sensor. If the temperature at the temperature sensor drops sufficiently rapidly, for example DELTA T/t > 2 DEG K per sec, this temperature sensor effects closure of the heater valve via an inversely thermostatically active actuator, irrespective of the absolute temperature at the temperature sensor. The inversely thermostatically active actuator does not need to be controlled. Closure of the heater valve is performed without delay as soon as cool external air first flows into the heated room. No extraneous energy is required for regulation.
