PURPOSE:To obtain a film with superior corrosion resistance and superior adhesive strength to paint by forming prescribed amounts of a chromate film and a film contg. prescribed polyethylene resin and an insoluble chromium compound on the surface of a steel plate electroplated with zinc. CONSTITUTION:A chromate film having 10-60mg/m<2> deposited chromium is formed on the surface of a steel plate electroplated with zinc. An aqueous soln. consisting of 3-30% as solid of a dispersion of carboxylated polyethylene resin contg. 3-20mol% carboxyl groups and of <=1% water-soluble chromium compound is prepared. The aqueous soln. is applied to the chromated steel plate and dried to form a film. The total amount of the deposited films is adjusted to 0.3-4g/m<2>. |
