Apparatus for automatically distributing food to fish tanks 7 comprises a central processing unit (CPU) 1 having a keyboard 19 and display unit 18 which calculates necessary augmentation of food pellets to the tanks on the basis of the oxygen content of the water in the tanks determined by temperature and specific weight measurements taken on the water in each tank by means of metering devices 16, 17. Food is passed from silos 2 along a conveyor 3 to a sieve 4 and thence to a weighing device 6 which controls the amount of food dispensed under the control of the CPU. A further conveyor 8 leads to a hopper 9 and distributing valve (not shown), also controlled by the CPU, which distributes the food to a selected one of a plurality of conduits 13 for passage to an appropriate tank 7. <IMAGE> |
