PURPOSE:To improve the internal resistance characteristic and the discharge performance of a lithium battery by dissolving lithium perchlorate in 1,3-dioxolan within a specified concentration range. CONSTITUTION:Lithium is used as a negative active material 20 while lead bismuth is used as a positive active material 16. A separator 18 consists of a porous film made of a member such as a nonwoven polypropylene fabric which is impregnated with nonaqueous electrolyte. The electrolyte is prepared by dissolving lithium perchlorate used as an electrolyte in 1,3-dioxolan used as a solvent. The molar concentration of lithium perchlorate in the electrolyte is adjusted to within the range of 2.5-4.0. |
