摘要 PURPOSE:To make an S/N ratio large, when a sample light beam and a reference light beam are switched, by making the cutoff rates of the beams the same as the passing rates for both beams. CONSTITUTION:In an atomic absorbance spectrophotometer utilizing Zeeman effect, light from a hollow cathode lamp 12 is made to be monochromatic light by a spectroscope from an incident slit 17 to an output slit through a Zeeman burner 14 and the like. The light is split into a sample light beam 36 and a reference light beam 37 by a polarizer 22. The image of a slit 21 is formed on a beam selector 26, which is rotated by a motor 27. Both light beams are made to agree by a photomultiplier 28. The beams 36 and 37 are made to pass through or cut by transmitting parts 38 and 39 or cutting parts 40 and 41. When the light beams 36 and 37 are switched, corresponding connecting parts 43 are obliquely arranged from the radial direction from a rotary selector shaft 42. The starting times of the passage and cutoff of the light beams 36 and 37 are made equal. Thus the continuance of the currents by the light beams 36 and 37 can be made smooth.
