The device relates to variable resistance exercise machines. A weight stack is movable along a vertical guide and a carriage, connected to the weight stack, is movable along a second guide track inclined to the vertical guide. The user power is applied to the weight stack through a cable and pulley system and a guide is provided to maintain the variable resistance throughout the motion.
