An indoleacetic ester derivative represented by the following formula (I) in which R represents a hydrogen atom, -COR1 in which R1 represents an alkyl group, an alkenyl group or a phenyl group unsubstituted or substituted with a halogen atom, a lower alkyl group, a lower alkoxy group, a nitro group, a formyl group, a hydroxy group, an acyloxy group, an alkoxycarbonyl group or an alkylenedioxy group, -COAR2 in which A represents a C1-C4 alkylene group, a C1-C4 alkyleneoxy group or a propenylene group, and R2 represents a phenyl group unsubstituted or substituted with a halogen atom, a lower alkyl group, a lower alkoxy group, a nitro group, a formyl group, a hydroxy group, an acyloxy group, an alkoxycarbonyl group or an alkylenedioxy group, in which R3 represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a cyano group, a lower alkyl group or a phenyl group, R4 represents a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group or a phenyl group, and R5 represents a phenyl group unsubstituted or substituted with a lower alkyl group, a lower alkyloxy group, an acyloxy group or a halogen atom, the process for preparing same, and the use of same, in effective amounts, as an antiinflammatory analgesic.
