<p>A body fluid absorbing article for use as sanitary towel, tampon or bayhs napkin has the absorbing material distributed in a certain pattern (stripes). The area between have capillary properties to direct the fluid flow from satd to non-satd. areas of the absorbing material. The absorbent is a polymer which swells in water and forms a gel such as a crosslinked carboxy alkylated starch deriv. The extremely good absorbent qualities of gel are thereby utilized more efficiently by spreading the effect from central to outlying areas. The strips which are free of absorbent act as temporary storage for fluid.</p> |
