<p>A fluid control valve has a T-plunger which can be moved by a pilot pressure from an open to a closed position. The plunger has at the incoming end a cylindrical recess and spiral slots in the wall. In the closed position, lip seals between the slots and the plunger head stop the fluid flow. In the open position, the fluid flows through the spiral slots to an annular space in the valve housing and to the outlet. This allows a gradual opening and closing without water hammer. The valve can be made of materials such as synthetic resin which are chemically resistant against corrosive fluids. A valve of this design can be readily grouped in banks for special purposes. Used in circuits of water which is to be purified in a softening and de-mineralising device with a column of resins which includes a regeneration system.</p> |
