An air heater comprises an external cylinder 4 surrounding an internal cylinder 2 mounted above a combustion chamber 1. A gas-air fuel mixture is supplied to the combustion chamber through a main conduit 31, the combustion products passing upwardly into the cylinder 2 where they mix with air to be heated supplied through a pipe 3. Other air to be heated enters through inlet orifice 44 and flows upwardly over the helicoidal vanes 42 attached externally to the cylinder 2 to mix with the combustion products and heated air at outlet orifice 43. Automatic gas flow control and ignition is achieved via a control panel 19, an ignition device 16 being triggered by a spark from a plug 20 connected to a transformer 22. The combustion chamber 1 has a cylinder 14 of refractory stone disposed above a series of gas jets 9. |
