PURPOSE:To prevent the deflection or wrinkles of a veneer from occurring by being brought in line contact with and polishing a laminated material in the lateral direction at a right angle to the proceeding direction while applying tension to it when polishing the extremely thin veneer stuck on the surface of furniture, etc. CONSTITUTION:A polishing mechanism 12 used in the polishing process 11 is formed in a triangular shape with a polishing belt 15 suspended around four movable rolls 14. A laminated material 10 is sandwich-wise inserted between the contact section 16 of the polishing belt 15 and the outer periphery of a pinching/ holding member 13, and the polishing belt 15 is brought in line contact with and polishes the surface of a single plate 1 in the lateral direction at a right angle to the poroceeding direction A. In this case, multiple polishing mechanisms 12 are rotated reversely to each other and are also slided in the lateral direction of the laminated material 10 as shown by arrows B, C, thus the single plate 1 is polished and the surface is finish-processed smoothly. |
