PURPOSE:To save the consumption of nitrogen gas as well as speed up printing operations by a method in which the inlet and outlet of the box to be printed are sealed up by a cylinder and a pair of rolls, the inside of them is evacuated, nitrogen gas is supplied from plural nozzles, and then electron rays are irradiated. CONSTITUTION:The inlet opening 1a of a box 1 is sealed up for its printing portion 6 by an outlet cylinder 7 having a pinch roll effect and a pinch-roll casing 8, and the outlet opening 1b is sealed by a pair of sealing rolls 9. The gas in the box 1 is evacuated by an exhauster 10 to keep it a negative pressure. A portion 3 printed by the outlet cylinder 7 introduced into the box 1 through the roll casing 8 and the exhauster 10 is directed onto an irradiator 2 after removing air in the boundary layer by nitrogen gas from the nitrogen nozzle 5, where printing ink is hardened and dried by electron rays. The portion printed is sent from the inside of the box 1 into a folder 12 by the rolls 9. |
