PURPOSE:To improve an SN ratio of a VSL (Vertical Signal Line) sensor by supplying a bias charge to the VSL during a period of 35% or more of a period in which the first transfer gate transfers a charge of the VSL. CONSTITUTION:A light cell 1 and a VSL3 are connected by a vertical switch 2. The VSL3 is connected to a bias capacitor 5 by the first transfer gate 4. The first transfer gate 4 is equipped with a channel 4A and an ion injection area 4B and is controlled by a direct current gate electric potential VDC. This first transfer gate is designed to supply bias current to the VSL over the period of 35% or more out of noise transfer cycle and signal transfer cycle of the VSL. A VSL20 which is connected to a gate of a vertical switch 2 is connected to clock power source through a capacitor 12, and connected to a vertical scanning circuit 13 through switches 14 and 15, which allows reading out in the vertical direction. |
