摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent cutter relieving interference, lengthen the cutter life, enhance machining accuracy, and shorten the cutting cycle time by controlling the circumferential feed rate and radial feed rate in gear profile cutting work so that both can vary without breaking the predetermined relationship. CONSTITUTION:In gear profile cutting work, radial feed rate FRAD and circumferential feed rate (FROT)<n> can be varied, provided that relation FRADX(FROT)<n>=Q holds, where Q is a constant and 0<n<=1. With FRADO and FRATO entered from an operation board 4, a Q-value computing unit 3a figures out a Q value and gives it to a feeding rate operation unit 3b. On the other hand, an operation unit 3b divides a total depth of cut H, which is entered from the operation board 4, into the predetermined number of ranges, for example 3. The operation unit 3b sets the actual radial feed rate at K1.FRAD(K1>1) for the first cutting range in order to obtain high radial feed rate, while at K2.FRADO (1<K2<K1) for the intermediate cutting range, and the operation unit 3b instructs a servomotor 5 to follow the above setting. Thus, a cutting load can be uniform at the level close to the maximum allowable load for the total cutting stroke, thereby shortening the cycle time.
