<p>PURPOSE:To secure the complete fixation of a cover to a body made of flexible sheet by a method in which the cover is coupled with a doubly folded flange portion formed at the end of the body and preliminarily clamped while supporting it by a presser tool. CONSTITUTION:The end of a body 1 made of a flexible sheet of paper, plastics, or laminates, etc. is curled outwards to form a doubly folded flange portion with an upper layer 2a and a lower layer 2b. A cover 4 is coupled with the above flange portion, a wedge-like presser tool 16 is inserted between the lower layer 2b and the periphery of the body, and the flange portion of the body 1 and the annular edge portion 5 of the cover are integrally folded and clamped preliminarily by using the outside face 16a of the presser tool and the first winding and clamping roll 10 with a flat main face 10a. The second winding and clamping roll 18 is then pressed on the preliminarily folded and clamped portion to form a doubly folded and clamped portion 7. The folded and clamped portion is suitable for beverage containers because it is doubly folded, hard to deform due to round form, and makes the container more drinkable.</p> |
