PURPOSE:To make an efficient work expectable by arranging cutter tips in such a manner as surface seat processing and reverse seat processing are performed respectively by means of cutter tips, divided into the first and the second groups, and their tool rigidity is improved. CONSTITUTION:Cutting tips 5, 6 are formed, for example, by triangular plate- shaped throw awat tips, and outer peripheral cutter tip edges 12, 13 and frontal cutter tip edges 14, 15 are formed on the cutting tips 5, 6, while the cutter tip edges 14, 15 are formed in opposition to each other on the end side of the direction of advance. Further, diameters D1, D2 of blade edges respectively formed by the cutter tip edges 12, 13 are in the relation of D1<D2 from view of rigidity of a tool, while their axial rake angles theta1, theta2 almost coincide with each other on the basis of their directions of progress, and a large positive angle is formed when theta1=theta2=17 deg., cutting resistance being reduced. Thus, the cutter has high tool rigidity of a cutting head with respect to the tool main body, and surface seat processing and reverse side processing can be efficiently performed. |
