PURPOSE:To allow handling of input/output of data as if the data were written in a file by using a part of a main memory device as a buffer and by providing an l-page file consisting of m-letters per line and n-lines per page with an external memory unit. CONSTITUTION:A part 17 of a main memory device 2 is used as a buffer, and on an external memory device 7, an l-page file which consists of m-letters per line and n-lines per page is provided. Data fetched into the buffer 17 are stored in a video memory device VRAM6. The data are displayed on a CRT10 by a video control CRTC9. When the data quantity displayed on display screen of the CRT10 becomes equal to that fetched into the buffer 17, the buffer 17 storing data and the video memory device VRAM6 are efficiently used. |
