PURPOSE:To manufacture a worked article having superior resistance to stress corrosion cracking in an atmosphere of a corrosive gas by hot working and quenching an austenitic metallic material contg. Ni, Cr and Mo under specified temp. conditions. CONSTITUTION:Austenitic stainless steel contg. Ni, Cr and Mo as the material of a pipe used in an oil well or gas well environment contg. H2S, CO2 and Cl<-> is heated to >=1,000 deg.C and worked into a pipe. In this state, the pipe is quenched from >=800 deg.C to carry out direct soln. heat treatment. The pipe may be cold worked furthermore as required and a pipe causing no stress corrosion cracking in said corrosive environment can be manufactured. |
