PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent selective electrode for chromate ion by using a gel layer formed of the nitrobenzene obtd. by dissolving the ion associated matter of chromic acid and tri-n-octylamine and PVC. CONSTITUTION:An aq. soln. of chromic acid is prepd. and is joined with the nitrobenzene soln. of the separately prepd. tri-n-octylamine and both solns. are stirred and shaked. The chromic acid forms the associated matter with the tri-n- octylamine in the nitrobenzene and is made into the soln. by the above-mentioned operation. Both solns. are separated to two layers. The one nitrobenzene layer of the two divided layers is dried and dehydratd and powder PVC is mixed therewith and is heated to be flowed. The fluid is cast into a glass tube 1. The fluid cast into the tube forms a gel layer 2 at the top end of the tube 1. A stainless steel wire 5 is inserted into the layer 2 and is fixed by a cork plug 3 and a rubber plug 4, by which the selective electrode for chromate ion is constituted. |
