PURPOSE:To aim at improvements in fuel consumption as well as in combustion efficiency, by setting up a charging valve and an exhaust valve in a radial direction and also setting up a fuel injection valve on the top wall. CONSTITUTION:A peripheral side wall 7 of a through hole in a cylinder head 4 is formed on the top of a cylinder consisting of a cylinder liner 1, forming a cylinder ranging this cylinder top. An undersurface of a projecting part 5 of a second cylinder head 6 forms a top wall 8 closing the cylinder top. And, at the peripheral side wall 7, a charging valve 16 and an exhaust valve 17 both are set up in its radial direction. In addition, a fuel injection valve 22 is set up on the top wall 8. With this constitution, the cylinder head comes to one that has sufficient strength whereby it is amply resistable to an increase in pressure inside the cylinder as well as in a rise in temperature inside the cylinder. |
