PURPOSE:To aim at improvements in a cooling effect for a rotor and a disc, by installing a swirl stream generating nozzle, having an angle with a shaft, in the inner circumferential side of a nozzle box. CONSTITUTION:An orifice plate 16 and a swirl stream generating nozzle 19 having an angle with a shaft 11 are all installed in the opposite side to a disc 5 at the inner circumferential side of a nozzle box 2. Steam leaked out of a root part in an outlet of a stationary blade 3 flows out of the nozzle 19 into an empty space 27 and is intercepted by the orifice plate 16, flowing into the upstream side as forming a powerful vortical steam. And, as a working effect of a kind of a vortex tube, a low temperature swirl stream is produced in a downstream direction at a spot nearby the shaft 11 and flows in the downstream side after passing through a balance hole 20 of the disc 5. With this constitution, both the rotor and the disc can be effectively cooled. |
