PURPOSE:To form an image of high image density and to enhance humidity resistance by forming the core material of a microencapsulated toner from a binder resin, a colorant, and a specially treated inorg. material. CONSTITUTION:The core material of a toner is composed of a binder resin, a colorant, and an inorg. material treated to make it hydrophobic. As said inorg. material, silica, titanium oxide, zinc oxide, etc. are used. As the hydrophobicity enhancing treatment, the wet and dry methods both using a silane coupling agent are used, preferably, in an amt. of 0.1-10pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. of said inorg. material. The obtained hydrophobic inorg. material is incorporated, preferably, in an amt. of 5-200pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. of the binder resin. To use the microencapsulated toner as a magnetic toner, a magnetic powder is incorporated in the core material, preferably, in an amt. of 15-70pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. of the total resin. |
