A bag made from flexible plastic film is sealed to contain a portion of deodorant or disinfectant to be released automatically when the bag is opened for use. Pref. the reagent is confined by a semipermanent weld linking the walls of the bag parallel to one edge of the bag, pref. near the end to be opened for use. The reagent may be supported on an absorbant strip of paper or cloth, or may comprise a number of individual pellets. Opt. the transient weld is provided by an adhesive strip, pref. up the side of the bag so that the reagent is released progressively as the bag is filled during use, dilating the bag from the base zone upwards.
