In a boring bar the adjustable cutters 10, 11, Figs. 6, 7, have notches 17 engageable by a centring pin 30, the cutters being clamped together by a screw and nut 12<SP>11</SP>. Each notch has divergent side faces 22, 21, and a bottom face 19 which intersects faces 10a, 10b, the conical end of pin 30 engaging faces 21, 22, between its extreme edges. In a modification the side face of the notch is chamfered at 40, Fig. 8. In a further modification the notch is of elliptical form 45, 46, Fig. 9. |
