PURPOSE:The titled fine polymer particles uniformly and finely divided and being excellent in dispersibility and storage stability, by copolymerizing acrylonitrile with a long-chain alkyl (meth)acrylate and an ethylenically unsaturated compound in a specified organic solvent. CONSTITUTION:70-98wt% (A) acrylonitrile is copolymerized with 30-2wt% (B) long-chain alkyl (meth)acrylate of the formula (wherein X is H or CH3, and n is 12-22) and 0-28wt% (C) other ethylenically unsaturated compounds at a temperature of 40-100 deg.C in the presence of an oil-soluble radical initiator in an organic solvent which can dissolve component A but can not dissolve polyacrylonitrile (e.g., xylene). EFFECT:It is possible to produce the titled fine polymer particles having a diameter <=1mu and being excellent in stability, etc., without any troublesome operation in an industrially advantageous manner. |
