PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of track width and to facilitate processing by forming cuts to a magnetic core to control the track width and filling a spacer of a nonmagnetic substance into those cuts which are divided by the magnetic core and a slider. CONSTITUTION:Two rod-shaped matters 6 and 6 are made of a metallic magnetic substance such as ''Sendust'', etc. A window 5 is formed to one of these two matters 6 and at the same time many arc-shaped cuts 13 are formed at the edge parts of both matters 6 with prescribed intervals. These cuts 13 are processed by means of a rubstone, etc. and the track width can be controlled down to about + or -3mum with extremely high accuracy. Both matters 6 are adhered to each other by a glass welding process. Thus a block 7 is obtained. This block 7 is cut successively at the nearly center part of each cut 13 to obtain a magnetic core chip 8 having cuts 13 at both sides of a head gap 2. A spacer 12 made of a nonmagnetic material such as the fused glass, synthetic resin, etc. is filled into the cut 13. Thus a magnetic core 1 is reinforced mechanically. |
