PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent both-surface copy which has no deficiency in gradation even by high-density image transfer and no image scratch even by hot plate fixation by providing a magnetic layer under a photoconductive layer and forming a dot magnetic latent image, and developing it uniformly with magnetic particles and forming ruggedness in the photoconductive layer. CONSTITUTION:A dot magnetic latent image 14 is formed in the magnetic layer 12 of a composite recording body 1 having the magnetic layer and photoconductive layer 11, and an electrostatic latent image is formed in the photoconductive layer 11. Then, the magnetic latent image 14 and electrostatic latent image are developed by using a liquid developer prepared by suspending magnetic particles and charged toner particles in insulating liquid. The charged toner particles are applied with a potential with the opposite polarity to transfer only charged toner particles which form the developed image to a transfer material selectively. Then the remaining magnetic particles on the surface of the recording body which are not transferred and charged toner particles are cleaned up for reuse. The magnetic latent image is formed of dots of 100mum<2> in area dispersed at 1-5mm. intervals and the magnetic particles have 1-10mum mean grain size and <=10<10>OMEGAcm and are not transferred during toner transfer. The size of the charged toner particles is <=1mum and the thickness of the developing toner layer is less than the magnetic particle size. |
