The motorcycle with side car comprises a steerable front wheel (V) and a rear wheel (A) which is driven by the engine (M) via two transmission chains (K1,K2) and an intermediate shaft (T). A freewheel coupling (E) on this shaft drives the wheel (Z) of the side car via a trasverse prop shaft (TR) and a further chain (K3). - The coupling (E) eliminates the need for a differential to compensate for the different rotational speeds of the driven wheel (A,Z) when steering through right and left-hand curves.
