PURPOSE:To allow effective use of a storage area for keywords within a retrieval file by providing the retrieval file which stores a memory address and keywords of picture information in an information file, by registering and retrieving the picture information by selecting and inputting the keyword from among keyword groups which a keyword input part holds and by facilitating the registration and retrieval of the picture information. CONSTITUTION:The picture information is stored in an information memory 2 from an information input part 1. While the keyword is inputted in the code information form from a keyword input part 5 and stored in a code memory 6. The inputted picture information and keyword are stored respectively in an information file 3 and a retrieval file 7 based on a registration control signal from a system controller, and the picture information is compressed into information by being encoded by an information storage reproducer 4 and then stored in the information file 3. At this time, the address information of a track where the picture information is stored is read out by the information storage reproducer 4, transferred to a controller 8, which then stores in the retrieval file 7 by correlating the address information with the keyword. |
