<p>The bottle alignment mechanism has first and second chain conveyors of widths corresponding to a number of bottles to be moved alongside each other, on opposite sides of the lengthwise axis of the mechanism. The conveyors are driven at first and second speeds inversely proportional to their widths. Other chain conveyors between the first two are driven at speeds providing a changeover in stages between the first and second speeds, their surfaces being in a common plane. The bottles are gradually moved from the feed to the discharge conveyor. The chain conveyor surfaces slope in the axial direction, the inlet conveyor being at the highest point, so that the bottles move under gravity towards the discharge conveyor.</p> |
