The insert clamping system comprises a cover plate screwed to a solid circular round plate. This is then thrust to a point just above a recess. - An insert is then placed in the recess and the cover plate is thrust home further, the operation being repeated until all recesses are filled. The plate is then moved until a recess in it is between two in the round plate, a central holding screw then being tightened right down.
