PURPOSE:To obtain the satisfactory image pickup output by providing sampling circuits, a gain control circuit, a subtracting circuit, etc. at the output side of a horizontal CCD having a 3-phase electrode structure and deleting the electric charge of only the vertical smear from the light charge containing the vertical smear. CONSTITUTION:A horizontal CCD10' has a 3-phase electrode structure, and sampling circuits 141 and 142, a gain control circuit 15, a subtracting circuit 16 and an LPF17 are provided at the output side of the CCD10'. A 3-phase pulse of a clock frequency fC is applied to 3-phase electrodes H1-H3 respectively. In this case, the pulses are applied to the H1 at time points t1, t7, t13..., to the H2 at time points t5, t11, t17... and to the H3 at time points t3, t9, t15... respectively. Then a horizontal switching transistor (TR)8 is connected to a part corresponding to the H1 of the CCD10' and then the TR8 turned on in the periods of t1-t2 and t7-t8 respectively. Thus it is possible to fetch the vertical smear and the light charge during a repetition mode of one of three electrodes H1-H3 and then to separate and transfer them. Thus the vertical smear can be separated from the light charge. |
