PURPOSE:To reduce the vertical smear by extracting the light charge containing the vertical smear, etc. and the charge containing the vertical smear only after separating them from each other and carrying out the subtraction between both charges. CONSTITUTION:A pair of horizontal CCD(10,10'') are used to transfer an electric charge during a repetition mode of one of electrode pairs. In this case, horizontal switch transistors 81...8n and 8'1...8'n are used for two switching actions respectively. Then the light charge Q'V2 of the vertical smear appears at an output terminal 15 of the CCD10; while the light charge QS containing the vertical smear charge Q'V3 appears at an output terminal 15'' of the CCD10'' respectively. Then both output voltages are applied to a subtracting circuit 19 for subtraction. Thus it is possible to deliver a signal containing a small amount of vertical smear from an LPF20. |
