PURPOSE:To facilitate fitting an ink sheet, replacement of the ink sheet and countermeasure for jamming or the like, by a construction wherein an upper part of the recorder is opened and closed relatively to a lower part of the recorder (in which a platen roller is provided) through a hinge with an ink sheet feeding part as a boundary. CONSTITUTION:A recording paper S is supplied through a guide 14 or a feeding passage for manual insertion, is fed to a recording part through a resist roller pair 18 and the platen roller 20, and is fed to a paper-discharging tray 3 through a guide 31 and a discharging roller pair 32. On the other hand, a rolled form ink sheet IS set in the upper part 1 of the recorder is fed through guide pipes 21, 23 and the platen roller 20 to be taken up by a take-up spool 39, and thermal transfer recording is conducted by a thermal head 25 at a printing part. The upper part 1 can be opened and closed relatively to the lower part 2 through the hinge 37A, with the feeding passage for the ink sheet IS as a boundary, so that fitting and replacement of the ink sheet IS and countermeasure for jamming of a recording sheet or the like are facilitated. In addition, since the platen is provided in the lower part 2, a driving gear is also provided on the lower part side, resulting in that the upper part is made to be light in weight and can be smoothly opened and closed. |
