PURPOSE:To execute flaw detection of two axis directions only by one flaw detecting scanning by fitting transmission/reception vibrators in two different axis directions. CONSTITUTION:An axial direction flaw detecting vibrator 1 for flaw detection of pipe welding part is adhered to a probe shoe 2 having a surface inclined by 37.4 deg. from a normal direction so that the refractive angle in a steel is 70 deg.. Peripheral direction flaw detecting vibrators 3, 4 are arranged by setting up theta0 so that an angle theta3 made with the normal direction of the surface in the pipe is 45 deg. to maximize the reflection of a defect having a surface in a pipe axis direction. Since the vibrators 3, 4 are inclined, ultrasonic beams 5, 6 turned to the peripheral direction are not interfered with a welding excess metal, so that the defect having an axial direction surface can be detected. |
