The drop-down fold-up bed is swivelled from a raised position down into the lower horizontal position, and vice-versa, by means of swivel rods which are in the form of a parallelogram rod linkage which engage the end walls (22) of the bed (23) and are connected together by at least one rod (11). This lightweight economical construction which can be easily attached to the frame allows the bed to be raised and lowered with minimum effort without any danger of tilting or canting, since a parallel guide is ensured by means of the connecting rod. The parallelogram linkage pref. engages against two fastening points (17, 24) on the end wall (22) of the bed (23) which are spaced from each other with the load-transferring lever ams (4, 5) which engage against these points (17, 24) being guided for swivel parallel movement by at least one stabilising linkage (10). |
